Software as a Service

CERVIS is on-demand Volunteer and Event Management Software, often referred to as Software as a Service or SaaS. As a hosted solution, CERVIS allows us to provide the best service and prices to our customers by eliminating the burden of software and hardware maintenance and management as well as the costs of IT personnel to maintain your software. Software as a Service is a model of software delivery where a company provides their customers online access to software, alleviating that customer from the maintenance and daily technical operation, management, and support of business and/or consumer software.

Customers pay a monthly fee to the SaaS provider who conducts all management and hosting of major enterprise software, such as CERVIS volunteer and event management software. Organizations have unlimited access to the SaaS provider's software via the Internet. This model saves the customer substantially on capital expenditures - they do not have to devote resources to hardware on which to run the organization’s software nor personnel to operate and maintain either the hardware or the software. Software as a Service allows your organization to focus your time and resources where they matter most.

Benefits of Software as a Service

ON-DEMAND ACCESS: CERVIS is available to anyone, anytime, anywhere with just a web browser and an Internet connection, including most web-enabled cell phones and PDA browsers.

EASY TO LEARN & USE: CERVIS volunteer and event management software is easy for both your organization and any volunteer to use.

REDUCED RISK: CERVIS provides customers a professionally managed environment with multiple levels of security, redundancy and backups to ensure your data is safe and secure.

NO TOUCH UPGRADES: We regularly upgrade our software with new features and enhancements; the upgrades are free and require no action on the part of your organization to install them.

LOWER TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP: The overall cost of a hosted solution is actually lower due to the reduced costs of maintenance and internal IT support.

Data Security

PHYSICAL SECURITY: All of our equipment and data is located within a state-of-the-art datacenter in Texas. Access to the data center is restricted by security guards, two factor authentication barriers, plus continually monitored closed-circuit motion sensitive cameras trained on all entrances and common areas 24x7x365.

NETWORK SECURITY: Our entire application platform is protected by both network-based and host-based firewalls as well as being safeguarded by network address translation. All systems are protected by network-based and host-based Intrusion Protection Systems and CERVIS Technologies proactively monitors and analyzes all server system logs to identify security threats. Additionally, our data center utilizes systems for Distributed Denial of Service, and many other external threats.

SYSTEM REDUNDANCY: Our network infrastructure offers complete redundancy throughout. All three of our SAS 70 Type II certified data centers provide redundant electrical power, equipment cooling systems and Internet connectivity. The application databases are stored on redundant drives configured within the servers and all customer data is encrypted, backed up, and stored at a secure offsite location two times per day. Each database server is also configured with mirror replication so all information in the database is copied, up to the last committed transaction, to one of our fail-over data centers. This means that in the unlikely event that we experience the loss of our primary data center, CERVIS will continue to remain fully operational.
