Tacoma Youth Fishing Event, June 8, 2024

Description:

In partnership with Tacoma Urban League, WDFW is hosting a youth fishing event for the greater Tacoma community on Saturday, June 8th, from 11:00am - 3:00pm at Wapato Park in Tacoma.


Volunteer shifts will be from 10:15am - 4pm. 

 

We are looking for volunteers to assist with casting lessons, prepping rods and reels, baiting, and cleaning, staffing an outreach table, and passing out materials. No fishing experience required. If you have questions, please contact Diane Tilton at 360-902-2256 or diane.tilton@dfw.wa.gov.

 

Volunteers working near water will be required to wear a personal floatation device (PFD) provided by WDFW and view a short volunteer-specific PFD training video before starting volunteer work near the water. This training will be provided before the start of the event. 


Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. 

 

This event is eligible for Master Hunter volunteer hours.
