Soup Kitchen Volunteer

For over 40 years, Broadway Community has lovingly prepared warm, healthy, and gourmet multicourse meals for all who hunger - whether in mind, body, or spirit. During the best of times and the worst of times, our soup kitchen has been a live-giving island of stability for thousands of New Yorkers in need.

 

Abundance is at the center of our soup kitchen's philosophy. We don't just serve calories -- we serve compassion, deliciousness, and dignity. Each meal is carefully prepared by a professional Chef and is completely free. At our soup kitchen, you can always count on being treated like royalty.

 

Volunteer Responsibilities

Because our Community Lunch Program is such a dynamic operation, volunteer responsibilities may change from day-to-day. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Helping to prepare and distribute breakfast and lunch to the Guests of our soup kitchen.
• Work with our Chef and other volunteers to create elements of our lunch menu.
• Clean dishes and other working areas.

• The ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Being a team player.
• The ability to lift 20 pounds.
