Opportunity Name:
VR - Aberfoyle Walking Routes |
|
Description:
Aberfoyle village lies in one of Europe's most beautiful locations. It sits on the southern edge of the Highland Boundary Fault, with Loch Ard , Loch Chon, Loch Arklet and Loch Lomond all lying to the West; Loch Katrine, Loch Achray and Loch Venacher to the North and the Lake of Menteith, Scotland's only "lake" lying to the East. The village is without doubt the most important gateway to the Trossachs and has something for everyone.
You can explore the village of Aberfoyle and take a walk along to Doon Hill or Lochan Spling. You can also head up to The Lodge Forest Visitor Centre and explore the various walks available there. FLS are excited that you will be there and will be able to provide you with up-to-date info about the forest, any events and/or any operations that are going on.
This is a beautiful walking route and a great opportunity to explore this fascinating village and its wilder surroundings with the opportunity to meet lots of visitors to this popular area.
This route starts in Aberfoyle. We don't have a pool car booked for this route, so please let us know if you need one. As well as being able to ask for a Car Park Pass at the Lodge, we have parking passes available to display when at the Lodge, which unlike the ones from the Lodge you can keep.
We have put these on for a different mid week day, every week, but if you give us plenty of notice, it shouldn't be problem to swap dates to suit you.
For more information about this route, including a route description and map, please visit the Posted Documents section on CERVIS. |
