Description:

Background to project/event and objectives: Funded by FLS and LLTNP, the project monitors and maintains the water vole project in the Strathard and Trossachs area.

 

You must have completed the water vole training day to support this project.

 

What would you like the volunteers to do: Water vole surveys.  You will be going out with Ranger Gareth Kett, so a great opportunity to gain confidence before going out in small groups together.  Survey location will be confirmed once you sign up by Gareth.

 

Activity Level:  Strenuous to  moderate includes frequent walking over very rough ground.

 

Protective Equipment Required: Gloves, and stick for wading in water.  You will need waders which can be picked up from HQ.

 

Volunteers to bring: Please bring lunch, waterproof clothing, suntan cream, midge repellent and hot and cold drink.

 

Specific knowledge or training required: Training provided by FLS prior to surveys.
