JUNIOR Basic Orientation

Overview

This class is intended for families who are volunteering with children ages 7-11.

 

All children who wish to become junior volunteers AND the adult who will be accompanying them must be signed up for the class ahead of time so we know how many people to expect. 

 

Orientation includes history & tour of the shelter as well as an overview of our junior volunteer needs & activities.  

 

Requirements for ALL volunteers:

• Thoroughly read the Volunteer Handbook
• Our Volunteer Program requires that all volunteers have access to internet and at least one email address. Our volunteer site is online and volunteers are required to use this site to apply, complete training, and sign up for their volunteer shifts. Additionally, the primary source of communication with volunteers is through email so volunteers must have access to a functioning email address.
• For a charge of $10 per person, you will receive training and an HES t-shirt. 
• Volunteers age 7-11 must be accompanied by an adult at all times through trainings and volunteer duties.
