Odessa Drive Thru Pantry

We do a drive-thru distribution model to provide West Texans in need with food staples. Clients line up ahead of time in their vehicles at the distribution site. Half an hour before the first clients are assisted, we unload food, tents and tables from our trucks, stage food so it’s ready to go and get clients checked in from their cars. During the distribution, volunteers distribute emergency food into each vehicle’s trunk, and after, volunteers help break down and clean up. This is an outdoor event so please dress comfortably for the weather. The minimum age to participate is 10 years old. Minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult age 21+ in order to serve. If you are bringing multiple minors, you must bring one adult for every five volunteers under 16.

 

We ask all volunteers to arrive 5-10 minutes before the listed start time. Please plan to give yourself ample opportunity to locate the mobile pantry, get checked in, and be ready to start on time. Please dress appropriately and comfortable. Please no spaghetti straps, short shorts, leggings, or clothes that are revealing. Also, closed-toe shoes only- no flip flops, sandals, or heels allowed while volunteering for safety purposes.  This is a rain or shine volunteer opportunity so please dress accordingly. Some volunteers will be asked to work in a cold area or hot area that is not air-conditioned for the duration of the shift.  If you need accommodations during your shift, please contact us as soon as you sign up for your shift so that we can discuss options.  Once you sign up, keep an eye out for an email with more information about your shift!
