Drivers Needed: Food Pantry Donation Pick-Up

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer driver for the Catholic Charities Food Pantry Program, please contact Beatrice Endler before signing up for a volunteer time slot. Please also note that all volunteer drivers need to complete a background check and a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check before driving for Catholic Charities. While it is preferred that volunteer drivers are able to lift up to 40 pounds, it is not required.

 

1. Monday Mornings (10:30 am - 11:30 am)


1. Description: Drive to SE Portland to pick up 100-200 pounds of meat products and bring them back to the weekly food pantry. Volunteer drivers often use their personal vehicle for this pick-up, but if that's not possible, we can make other arrangements. 
2. Tuesday Mornings (10:30 - 11:30 am)


1. Description: Drive to NE Portland to pick up 20 cases of fresh produce and bring them back to the weekly food pantry. Volunteer drivers often use their personal vehicle for this pick-up, but if that's not possible, we can make other arrangements. 
3. Tuesday Mornings/Early Afternoons (11:30 am - 2:00 pm)


1. Description: Drive to Happy Valley to pick up food and deliver it to the monthly food pantry site (the location of the Monthly Pantry changes from week to week).  
4. Friday Afternoons (11:30 am - 1:00 pm)


1. Description: drive to Clackamas to pick up 75 loaves of bread and transport them back to the weekly food pantry. Volunteer drivers often use their personal vehicle for this pick-up, but if that's not possible, we can make other arrangements. 

Requirements:

• Review the Volunteer Handbook and return the Handbook Fillable Signature Page form
• Criminal background check completed 
• Volunteers must complete a online Defensive Driving Training course and sign our Transportation Policy
• Volunteers must provide valid ID and proof of insurance

Qualifications:

• Minimum age of 18 years unless with a parent, guardian, or agent on their behalf.
