Produce Distribution @ McKamy

Brighter Bites volunteers will help distribute produce to families in a contactless, drive-thru pickup line and/or walking line. 

 

Volunteer duties may include:

• Providing a warm, welcoming, and fun environment for parents and children.
• Guiding families to check-in with Brighter Bites staff.
• Inviting parents and kids to engage in conversations about the fruits and vegetables in the bags and the nutrition topic of the week.
• Handing the produce to families who have checked in with Brighter Bites staff.
• Directing traffic
• Distributing bags into the cars and moving pallets
• Engaging children in a nutrition-related game or activity.
• Helping families carry the produce bags to their cars.
• Cleaning up the Brighter Bites work area.

 

Important Requirements:

• Bring a government-issued photo ID. You MUST sign in at the front office to get a visitor pass and then proceed directly to the Brighter Bites location. 
• Wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty and sturdy, closed-toe shoes.
• Brighter Bites no longer requires that volunteers wear masks at this time; however, volunteers are encouraged to wear masks in small enclosed spaces.
• If you sign up and then wake up on the day of the shift feeling unwell, please contact us to cancel. It is no problem at all.
• If Distribution occurs OUTDOORS. Bring your own sun/rain weather gear.
