Description:
Brighter Bites volunteers will help distribute produce to families.
Volunteer duties may include:
Providing a warm, welcoming, and fun environment for parents and children.
Guiding families to check-in with Brighter Bites staff.
Inviting parents and kids to engage in conversations about the fruits and vegetables in the bags and the nutrition topic of the week.
Handing the produce to families who have checked in with Brighter Bites staff.
Engaging children in a nutrition-related game or activity.
Cleaning up the Brighter Bites work area.
Important Notes:
- Please complete the following TWO Volunteer Registration Forms ONE WEEK PRIOR to volunteering, and email completed forms to dinorah.cano@brighterbites.org AND erodriguez@dvisd.net

- Bring a government-issued photo ID. You MUST sign in at the front office to get a visitor pass and then proceed directly to the Brighter Bites location.
- Wear comfortable clothes that can get dirty and sturdy, closed-toe shoes.
- Masking guidance for volunteers: Brighter Bites no longer requires that volunteers wear masks at this time; however, volunteers are encouraged to wear masks in small enclosed spaces. We will continue to monitor CDC, federal and local guidance, and school policies, and make updates to our policies as needed.
- In order to protect yourself, other volunteers, the Brighter Bites staff, and the families we serve, please do not volunteer if:
- You feel unwell or have any new or worsening signs and symptoms of COVID-19 as described by the CDC within the last 72 hours.
- If you sign up and then wake up on the day of the shift feeling unwell, please contact us to cancel. It is no problem at all.
