Description:
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) works to improve the health of elderly people at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA commodity foods such as juice, cereal, milk, pasta or rice, peanut butter, canned meat, canned fruits and vegetables and fresh produce. These seniors have monthly incomes less than 130% of the poverty level. Through this USDA program we are able to serve clients throughout 50 counties.
In Lexington, we perform regular deliveries to seniors receiving food from this program and we need volunteers to help with the distribution. Volunteers are responsible for distributing the food boxes.
