KANSAS CITY - Girl Scout Service to Others Week

Registration for this event is not open for self-registration. Please contact the event organizer listed below for assistance with registration for this event.

Event Description:

During Girl Scout Service Week at Harvesters, Girl Scouts (8 and older) will sort and repack food in the Volunteer Engagement Center (VEC) for 90 minutes, followed by a 30-minute service learning activity. Chaperones and closed-toed shoes are required. Harvesters requests 1 adult per 5 youth for 8-11 year olds and 1 adult per 10 youth for 12-15 year olds.

In honor of March being National Nutrition Month, Girl Scout Members are also encouraged to host a food drive at your schools, faith based organizations, neighborhoods or parents' offices for healthy food items to bring with them to their volunteer shift. The goal for Girl Scout Service Month at Harvesters is for each Girl Scout to bring in 10 lbs. of food (approximately 10 – 15 items) so we can provide 1,500 meals for hungry people in our community.
