Event Description:

Did you know 2020 is a Leap Year? That means you have an extra day on February 29. Why not give that extra day some extra meaning?

 

The Volunteer Engagement Center is a vital part of Harvesters’ mission to feed hungry people today and work to end hunger tomorrow.  In this area, volunteers sort and repack food, which assists Harvesters in feeding over 141,500 people each month.  Volunteer tasks are assigned based on product availability and project prioritization.  Opportunities include:

  • Sorting and boxing non-perishable food
  • Packing fresh produce
  • Sorting and boxing bread
  • Repacking Ready-to-Eat food and bulk products
    • May include refrigerated or meat products
  • Packing BackSnack

Please note the following requirements:

  • Must be eight years or older
  • Volunteers 15 years old and younger need to be accompanied by an adult.
  • Long pants and closed toe shoes are required.
    • Some activities may require hair nets and other food safety garments
  • Register each person who will be volunteering
