Sunnyvale Shelter - Breakfast, Provide and Serve - 2024

HomeFirst welcomes volunteers to provide and serve breakfast for the Sunnyvale Shelter guests.

 

This option is for persons interested in donating and serving meals. If your group wishes to provide or serve ONLY, please go back to select the correct option.

 

Meal Donation Requirements:

• Breakfast should arrive by 7:00am and served by 7:30am.
• Food must be enough for 80 guests.
• Meals must provide balanced nutrition: 4oz of protein, 4-6oz of vegetable or fruit, and 4-6oz of starch. 
• Meals must be ready-to-serve.
• Meals must be restaurant catered or store bought. *

*Homemade meals are not permitted. If a volunteer will be transporting restaurant catered or store bough food, a current CA Food Handlers Card must be on file before donation is made. If providing as a group, at least 1 member with a card must be present.

 

Volunteering Requirements:

• ALL volunteers must be fully vaccinated (i.e., initial dose + one booster) for COVID-19. Proof of vaccination must be on file before first shift. If you have a vaccination exemption, a negative test result can be shown upon arrival at the shelter. Tests must come from an accredited lab (i.e., no at-home tests) and must have been performed in the 72 hours prior to the volunteer event.
• Regular and on-going shelter volunteers (i.e, those who volunteer 8 or more hours per year) must have proof of a negative TB test on file. The test must have been completed within the last 2 years.
• Volunteers at Sunnyvale must be at least 13 years old. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult (i.e., 21+ years of age) chaperone. One adult can chaperone up to 5 minors.
•  Long hair should be pulled back, and hairnets are required during meal service.

 

Upon arrival at the shelter, you will need to check in with security to sign in and take your temperature.

 

Face coverings must always be worn while inside the shelter.
