Event Description:

THE MOUNTAINS AND THE PEOPLE VOLUNTEER WORK PARTY - Glas-Allt and Corrie Chash paths

What and where?

On our mountain maintenance volunteer tasks you will undertake what is known as a “drainage run”. This means walking the route of the path, with a member of The Mountains & The People team and other volunteers, clearing the drainage features as you go. Think of it as a nice walk on an iconic mountain in the National Park, with a spade. This work is vitally important to ensure the newly built paths are kept in a good condition.

On this occasion we will be working on the Glas Allt and Corrie Chash paths which are two newly built mountain paths in the Cairngorms National Park.

When?

The volunteer days will run on Wednesday 19th & Thursday 20th June, 10.00am-4.00pm. Volunteers can do either day or both if you wish.

What will I need to bring?

You will need to bring appropriate clothing for the weather, sun hat, sun cream, waterproofs, layers, sturdy comfortable footwear, midge net, walking poles if required. You will also need enough food and drink to keep you going all day.

Please be aware there are no toilet facilities where we are working.

Who?

The volunteer days are open to everyone, although under 16s will need to be accompanied by an adult.
