Compost - Elmhurst Compost on the Go - December

Event Description:

Volunteer with GrowNYC's Zero Waste Programs to promote organics diversion for composting in New York City. Every Tuesday, food scraps are collected from neighborhood residents at the Elmhurst Compost On-the-Go location and brought to nearby Queens Botanical Garden for processing by NYC Compost Project. Volunteers are needed to help Compost Coordinators manage this busy food scrap drop off site by assisting with outreach, explanation, and physical work. No experience necessary, just bring a positive attitude and enthusiasm for waste diversion and recycling. Mandarin language skills are especially helpful for outreach at this site.

This event is outdoors and takes place rain or shine, so please dress for the weather and wear comfortable closed toe shoes.
