Description:
About the Event: On the second Saturday of May, the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will host the annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. This is the largest single-day food drive in the nation, and is planned locally by the branch 10: Capital City Letter Carriers. The week before the drive, all postal customers will receive a folded grocery bag in their mailbox, inviting them to leave non-perishable items by their mailbox on the day of the food drive. In 2023, this food drive provided over 50,000 pounds in one weekend!
About this Role: This is a role that is the most fun & effective when done with a partner! Great opportunity for a parent and child team. One person drives/navigates and the other person gets in and out of the vehicle collecting food. Route Volunteers will report to the Post Office assigned and report to the Volunteer Station Captain.
Ideally, sign up for the post office that serves the side of town you are most familiar with!
