KANSAS CITY - Mobile Food Pantry (Red Bridge UMC)

48 percent of Harvesters agencies reported having no full-time staff.   They rely on volunteers like you to make sure that the community receives the food they need. 

 

Mobile food pantries provide nutritious food in areas where access to food assistance is limited.  This program allows Harvesters to provide large quantities of fresh produce, and other nutritious food, where it is needed most.  

 

Volunteers make it possible for pantries to distribute food.  This is an outside opportunity.  Tasks include: 

    Assisting with traffic flow 

    Managing sign-in sheets 

    Loading food into cars 

    Must be able to lift 5-20 pounds repetitively 

    Assisting with cleanup 

 

Please note the following requirements: 

    Wear a mask anytime you are indoors

    Everyone is expected to wear the mask in a manner that fully covers your nose and mouth. Masks should not be worn below your nose.

    Keep client information confidential 

    Bring and wear gloves

Age Requirements 

    Must be 11 years or older 

        11-15 year olds must be accompanied by an adult 

Physical Requirements 

    Able to lift 5-20 pounds repetitively  

    Able to stand for the entire shift 

    Able to bend 

    Able to work outside 

 

Register each person who will be volunteering
