Family Wrap

What could be better than sharing the love of giving back with the whole family! We invite you to sign up for a special opportunity specifically designed for families with young children who cannot volunteer during regularly scheduled shifts.

 

 

Happy Packs are smaller bundles of diapers that will provide emergency relief to a family in need, as well as information that will connect that family to ongoing diaper help. By wrapping these diapers, you will help us reach families that don't yet know about HappyBottoms, very exciting! (Bonus: Kids will get to see our Diaper Mobile, Forklift & Electric Pallet Jacks)

 

There will be 2 sessions with registrations limited to 25 individuals.

Our Mission

Impact

Your volunteer efforts enable HappyBottoms to provide 2.7 million diapers annually to children from low-income families in the KC Metro area, distributed through our network of community collaborators.

 

Preparation

Please wear closed toe shoes during your shift and comfortable clothes.

 

Description of Shift

We will unlock the doors 10 minutes before your scheduled shift. We have a large parking lot. You may enter through the glass doors. If they are locked, please ring the doorbell.

 

Check-in and learn how HappyBottoms is working to eliminate diaper need in the KC region, tour the warehouse and receive training.  

 

Volunteers wrap diaper packages, fill monthly orders for agencies and hospitals, load diaper orders onto vehicles and complete other tasks as requested

 

Wrapping diapers includes taking diapers out of boxes/bags, counting, bundling together, wrapping with a machine or by hand and attaching labels. Filling orders includes counting and placing diaper packs onto carts/pallets and placing them in bags/boxes according to order requirements.

 

There will be light cleaning, sanitizing, recycling and disposing of trash created during the shift. Time will be allocated at the end of the shift to take photos, provide us feedback about your experience and celebrate what you accomplished!

 

Safety

Closed toe shoes are required. Once volunteers arrive all doors are locked from the outside.

Masking is still optional based on personal preference and disposable masks are available for all shifts.
