Breakfast is served at the Meyer Center Monday to Thursday to My Brothers Keeper Participants. Friday is a special breakfast called "Friday Morning Breakfast", and on this day both My Brothers Keeper Participants and the community can come have breakfast at the Meyer Center.
When you arrive for your shift, go to the side of the Meyer Center that has a small gated area. To the right of the gate there is a door that says "kitchen" knock on the door, and the staff will verify you're a volunteer and let you in. Please remember to sign in/out on either your phone or the volunteer tablet.
Monday - Thursday & Saturday
Volunteer Roles/Responsibilities Volunteers will assist the cook with prep/cooking the food ahead of time for the participants. Participants arrive around 6:30 am for breakfast, and volunteers can assist to serve the meal, help carry plates & drinks, share a meal and then assist with any clean up tasks after breakfast.
Volunteers are encouraged to sit down and share a meal with the participants as well. We want to be relational, and this is a great time to get to know the participants.
If you cannot stay for the whole time slot that is ok, but please be sure to communicate ahead of time to the cook what time you will need to leave.
Dress Code for Meyer Center Volunteers Please keep in mind that you are representing Mission Waco Mission World and to consider attire.
The earliest you can come is 5:40 am, however volunteers are welcome to come anytime until breakfast services are over, around 7:45 am.
Parents who would like to bring their family must sign up all family members and be present with any children 17 and younger while serving at the Meyer Center. |
