NALC 2024 Newbury Park 5/11/24

Food Share will be participating in the Nation’s largest one day food drive, National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive.  In 2019, we were able to collect over 120,000 pounds of food in one day with the help of our local letter carriers.  We are looking for volunteers to assist with the Newbury Park post office location.

 

Volunteers to assist with:

• Building cardboard bins

• Two volunteers to help direct carriers to positions where volunteers can unload carrier trucks
• All to cheer, clap, and make some noise as carriers arrive
• All help off-load Carrier trucks of bags filled with food into carts or directly into Food Share bins.

Attire: Please wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes. If you arrive in sandals, you will not be allowed on the Post Office property. Please show up on time and be prepared to have fun while working hard. 

 

Please park ACROSS THE STREET from the Post Office. Do not park in the Post Office parking lot. Plenty of parking across the street. Please use extra caution when crossing the street, Walk to the back of the Post Office.  Orientation provided by Food Share staff member.

 

Light snacks and water will be provided.

 

No one under the age of 14 is allowed to participate.
