J. Erik Jonsson Central Library, 7th Floor Citizen Archivist

The 7th floor collections focus on Dallas and Texas, spanning the mid-19th century to the present. Subjects covered in the collections include political and municipal history; architecture and community planning; ethnic and racial communities; visual and performing arts; business records; and ephemera.

Volunteers are needed to assist in all manners of preserving collection items for future generations, including scanning to digital formats, cataloging and inventory, and more. 

Please select the day you would like to volunteer. You will input your time after clicking "sign up". Your first shift at any location must be approved by library staff before it is confirmed.

 

This event requires:

• An up-to-date background check if over 18
• Completed Volunteer Orientation Training
