New Volunteer Orientation

Prior to volunteering with Mission Waco Mission World all individuals must complete 3 key steps! A web link and information will be sent to your email. To begin the process, please choose a volunteer orientation to attend.

 

Attend a general Volunteer Orientation

Sign up here to attend orientation. We offer orientations in person and over zoom. Please be mindful of which option you choose. The orientation will be approximately 45 minutes – an hour and will provide information on our Mission, history, programs and how to use CERVIS our volunteer database to sign up for volunteer opportunities.

 

In person orientations:

If you attend an in person orientation, it will be held at our main office located at 1315 N. 15th Street Waco, TX 76707.

Complete Background Check

All volunteers 18 and older need to complete a background check. Once you have completed your volunteer application, you will receive an email prompting you to complete the background check online through Backgrounds Online. When you complete the form, you will also be charged a fee to cover the cost. If needed, you can complete a paper copy at our main office (1315 N. 15^th St.) and pay with check or cash when you drop it off.

 

Create a CERVIS application and profile

Complete your profile in CERVIS (You'll receive next steps in orientation)

• With that account, you’ll be able to register for places/events to volunteer and to keep track of your hours in our system by logging in and out each time you serve.
• When you set up the profile, be sure to click on your interest areas so that it will send your name and info to our program directors.
