| Description:
Riverfest is a free, family friendly festival presented by Catawba Riverkeeper. It takes place on the banks of the Catawba River, at Kevin Loftin Riverfront Park on Saturday, May 18th, 2024. This one-day festival will be action-packed with fun for the whole family!
When: Saturday, May 18th: 11:00am-4:00pm
Where: Kevin Loftin Riverfront Park 1400 E Catawba Street, Belmont
Weather Policy: We do not operate during high winds, flood levels, or thunder/lightning storms, but may continue the event through light rain. Any weather-related cancellation call will be made by 3:00pm the day before the event.
Details: We need volunteers to assist with the wide variety of positions outlined below. Please look over the descriptions, sign up for the corresponding shift and time slot desired, and spread the word to help make this our most successful Riverfest yet!
Set-up: Prior to the start of the event. Volunteers will assist with setting up tents, tables, supplies, distributing ice, and helping vendors unload.
Welcome Tent: Volunteers will welcome guests to the event and give out basic information, such as activity options, kids programs, and other event related information.
Parking: Volunteers will assist with directing traffic and helping pedestrians safely cross the street.
Ambassador Tent: Volunteers must have completed Ambassador Training to work this booth.
Education Tent: Volunteers will assist Education Staff in creative activities that teach kids about sustainability and our shared waterways.
Kayak Dock: Volunteers will assist staff with getting guests into kayaks and onto the water. Please note this role will be a labor-intensive, physically demanding shift that will be mostly in the sun.
Bounce House: As the King or Queen of the Bounce House Castle, this volunteer shall wave their magic wand to admit a few little lords and ladies at a time into the bouncing kingdom. (Crown, cape, and sceptor included. )
Beverage Tent: Volunteers will be responsible for the sale of non-alcoholic beverages and providing event information upon request to guests.
Beer Ticket Sales: Volunteers will be responsible for selling tickets for alcohol. Please note that volunteers should be tech-savvy for this role.
ID Check: Volunteers will be responsible for checking IDs for sale of alcohol and providing wristbands to those who are 21 and older.
Photos & Videos: If you have a love for photography and would like to volunteer any amount of time during Riverfest to take photos or videos of the event, guests, staff, etc., to allow us to use for future marketing, we would greatly appreciate it!
