Description:
We are looking for Medical Professionals or Medical Student volunteers to help support our Healthy Athletes event at the State Summer Games in Billings, MT on May 16th from 5:30pm-9:30pm, at the Fortin Education Center on Rocky Mountain College Campus.
We will offering these fun health screenings during the Dance Carnival:
FUNfitness: Is the physical therapy discipline of Special Olympics Healthy Athletes. FUNfitness provides athletes the opportunity to be screened for flexibility of hamstring, calf, shoulder rotator and hip flexor muscles: functional strength of the abdominal and lower extremity muscles: and balance. During these screenings, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and physical therapist or physical therapist assistant students to work with athletes, recommending exercises and other helpful strategies.
Fit Feet Screening offers screenings to evaluate ankles, feet, lower extremity biomechanics, and proper shoe and sock gear to participating athletes. Fit Feet helps Special Olympics athletes step lively on the playing field, and in everyday life. The Special Smiles Screening provides comprehensive oral health care information, including offering free dental screenings and instructions on correct brushing and flossing techniques to participating Special Olympics athletes.
There is no preparation required ahead of time. Volunteers will be trained when they arrive at 5:30pm. all the materials and supplies will be provided for each station. Free dinner on us!
