Produce on Wheels - Silver Springs

Produce on Wheels serves seniors aged 60-plus throughout Northern Nevada and provides them with fresh produce and conversation. This program has two focuses: to provide produce and to engage seniors to help fight hunger and senior isolation.

 

The distributions are held outside and volunteers should dress accordingly and wear closed-toe shoes. Volunteers will help distribute produce, check seniors in, engage with seniors, and help seniors fill out required intake forms and surveys. Assisting seniors with the intake process requires patience, confidentiality, and a nonjudgmental attitude. Some tasks will require the volunteer to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

 

Please be advised that some sites do not have a public bathroom.
