Opportunity Name:
Mobile Harvest Special Event - Family Health Festival

Description:

Access to healthful, nutrient-rich foods is extremely important for community members served by the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. The Mobile Harvest program is a direct service program that allows us to distribute perishable foods such as fresh produce, bread, and dairy in high-need neighborhoods. Volunteers at our Mobile Harvest distributions assist Food Bank staff with handing out food items to clients, as well as setting up and tearing down the mobile distribution site. These distributions are held outdoors, and volunteers should come dressed for the weather. Please note: The specific location you are signing up for is listed above in the event name. When arriving at the site, please report to the Food Bank staff member working with the semi-truck.

Remember that close-toed shoes are required at all times, and please bring your own water.

Volunteers will be asked to perform various tasks; most of these tasks will REQUIRE the volunteer to be able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 lbs and to stand continuously for the duration of the session.
