Opportunity Details | Cowlitz Wildlife Area English Ivy Project
Opportunity Name:
Cowlitz Wildlife Area English Ivy Project |
|
Description:
Ivy can outcompete native plants, reducing animal foraging habitat. It inhibits regeneration of understory plants and kills understory and overstory trees by shading them out. Ivy may cause storm damage trees by the added weight in the canopy that also may act as a sail. The scope of the project is to pull / cut / remove English ivy on the Mossyrock unit of the wildlife area.
Dry camping on near the work site, is an option for those that would like to participate for multiple days.
This project is eligible for Master Hunter hours.
