Caregiver Support Progrm

 

OneSky has programs that improve the lives of people in our community, and volunteers are a big part of what we do. The Care Giver Support Program is designed to support unpaid caregivers who take care of older adults who have difficulties managing on their own. The majority of the group participants are caring for a loved one living with dementia and all of our activities are fully inclusive. As a volunteer, your role would be to support the activities by providing help to the Coordinator to ensure that everyone is included in a safe and caring environment. Activities may include social lunches, friendly conversations, bus trips, and music & singalong sessions. Suitable volunteers are asked to commit one to two hours per week. Help make Penticton more dementia friendly, and help those affected and their families who are often stigmatized and isolated.
