Description:

Come join the Parks crew at Pullen Park as we refresh the plant beds with spring annuals and mulch.

 

Duties and Impact:

Volunteers will use hand shovels, wheelbarrows, pitchforks, hard rakes, and other tools as needed to help spread mulch and install plants in designated areas.

 

By volunteering, you will help provide a beautiful aesthetic for visitors and a healthy habitat for native wildlife. Mulching these area not only enhances the look of the park, it also helps with controlling weeds and helps with water retention.

 

Work Environment:

We will be working outside in the elements. There is the possibility for uneven ground. There will be a restroom on site.

 

Requirements:

  • Ages 12+ . Those under 16 must have a parent/guardian present
  • Complete a release form (if prompted). Those under 18 will need a parent/guardian signature

Other Instructions:

  • Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing
  • Wear close-toed sneakers or hiking boots
  • Bring your own filled water bottle

Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
