Description:
Come join the Parks crew at Dorothea Dix Park as we tend to the gardens throughout the year. Come plant with us in the spring and fall, mulch in the winter and weed in the summer.
Duties and Impact: Volunteers may use hand shovels, wheelbarrows, pitchforks, hard rakes, and other tools as needed to help spread mulch and install bulbs/plants/trees in designated areas.
By volunteering, you will help provide a beautiful aesthetic for visitors and a healthy habitat for native wildlife. Mulching these area not only enhances the look of the park, it also helps with controlling weeds and helps with water retention.
Work Environment: We will be working outside in the elements. There is the possibility for uneven ground. There will be a restroom on site.
