Join Dix Park during the City of Raleigh's Fourth of July Celebration!

Duties and Impact:

Volunteers will act as activity assistants and will help Artsplosure staff with art activities for the community. This will include the set up of art supplies, helping visitors with the craft, refilling supplies, and cleaning up before the firework show. Some of the featured activities include bracelet making, chalk board art, paper sculptures, bubbles, a community mural, and more! Volunteers will be spreading community spirit by helping park visitors get artistic!

Work Environment:

Work will take place on Big Field - a hilly, grassy terrain. There will be tents and plenty of water, but most of the work is out in the open. There will be port-o-johns on site. We are expecting large crowds. There will also be a DJ with music, and food trucks. We will supply water, snacks, sunscreen, and fun!

Requirements:

Ages 18+
Complete a release form for the calendar year (if prompted)

Other Instructions:

Hydrate the day before! This event takes place during the hottest time of the day
Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing
Wear close-toed sneakers
Bring your own filled water bottle and any additional snacks you may want
Bring sunglasses and/or a hat, and wear sunscreen

Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
