Dix Park Falling for Local

The City of Raleigh in partnership with Shop Local Raleigh are hosting the Falling for Local festival at Dix Park. The event will feature a family-focused atmosphere with food/drinks, entertainment, kid and adult activities, and so much more!

 

Duties and Impact:

Volunteers will greet event attendees, provide directional instructions, support event setup, event activities, litter cleanup, and post event cleanup. Volunteers working this event will be supporting the City and park by ensuring event activities are a safe and fun experience while attending the event.

 

Work Environment:

This event will take place outdoors and there will be uneven ground. Volunteers will be on their feet frequently. There will be crowds and music. There will be port-o-johns on site.

 

Requirements:

• Ages 15+. Those under 16 must have a parent/guardian present
• Complete a release form (if prompted). Those under 18 will need a parent/guardian signature

Other Instructions:

• Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing
• Wear close-toed sneakers or hiking boots
• Bring your own filled water bottle
• Parking and check-in instructions will be sent to registered volunteers

Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
