Anagach Woods Volunteering Sessions

Anagach Woods Trust would like to invite you to help maintain this stunning woodland, in Grantown on Spey!

 

There will be regular volunteering sessions each month for you to join in with. 

 

They would like to offer regular opportunities this year on the first Saturday and last Monday of each month starting in March. They now have access to the curling pond pavilion for trust activities! Meaning each day starts there at 10am with all important coffee and a briefing. The day will run until 3pm but they are happy for people to leave earlier if needed. They would generally aim to have a lunch around midday and would advise volunteers to bring packed lunch and drinks. They may or may not return to the base at lunch depending on where we are working.  

Typical tasks would include: Tree ringing, non native seedling removal, path repair and drainage, litter collecting, cutting back overhanging branches on paths, creation of wildlife ponds and fire mitigation etc. Tasks will be assigned according to what is appropriate at that time of year and given the physical skills and fitness of those attending. 

They would recommend that volunteers bring work gloves and welly boots in addition to normal walking or work boots. All other tools will be provided. Where training is required this will be provided at the start of the session and use of tools will be monitored during the day by directors and Volunteer rangers.
