Description:
Raleigh Parks will be hosting a Community Mental Health Check-In Program at Marsh Creek Community Center for Mental Health Awareness Month. The check-in program was designed to be an uplifting mental health promotion program that creates an approachable atmosphere that fosters dialogue about mental well-being. The program will include interactive booths, music, community resources, fitness demos and prizes with a focus on fun!
Duties and Impact: Volunteers will have an opportunity to connect with families whilst facilitating interactive activities to promote mental health awareness. Additionally, volunteers will work alongside Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources health and wellness staff and local agencies to promote mental health resources.
Volunteer duties may include serving as a greeters to welcome participants at the registration table, or as activity facilitators for the following booths: Registration, uplift, paint your heart, boost, thrive, know your limit, mood matters, raffle and photo booth. Supplies for each booth will be provided.
Work Environment: Volunteers will be stationed inside the community center. The environment will be loud, and active. The physical demands will be moderate. Volunteers may be asked to bend, reach or lift no more than 5 to 10 pounds. Restrooms and water fountains will be available for volunteers.
