Learn to Ride at Worthdale |
|
Description:
This event is held in partnership with Oaks and Spokes. Please join us on this exciting journey as we build equity to gain a lifetime skill that delivers thriving results. No better time than the present to celebrate the present of a new bicycle! Using the balance bike method, volunteers assist learners with gaining a sense of balance and control on two wheels. With those skills, it won’t take long for you to see the joyful feeling on their face!
Duties and Impact: Volunteers will work with Oaks and Spokes staff, along with City of Raleigh staff to give one-on-one help to all participants learning to ride bikes. Volunteers will help with setting up, breaking down, and cleaning the area after the event.
Work Environment: The event will be held outside in the Worthdale Community Center parking lot. It will be a little loud when riders are given instructions as they learn to balance and ride the bikes. There is the possibility for uneven ground. There will be a restroom on site.
