Warehouse Assistant

With a goal of building or renovating more than 50 homes in 2023, it's going to take a lot more than swinging hammers to get it done. There is so much behind the scene work volunteers can do with Habitat that helps us reach our goal of making affordable housing a reality for all our neighbors in Omaha.

 

TASKS: 

• Maintain warehouse cleanliness
• Help to organize warehouse
• Restock shelves
• Wash vehicles
• Occasional light maintenance work

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:  

No tools or experience are necessary, although experience in basic/light maintenance is preferred but not required. Our warehouse supervisor will be happy to provide the training and tools needed for the job.  

 

DRESS CODE: 

Please wear closed toe shoes or boots and weather appropriate clothing. Due to the nature of the work, pants or shorts that hit at the knees or below are recommended. 

 

AGE RESTRICTIONS: 

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.  

 

WHAT WE’LL PROVIDE: 

We’ll provide personal protection equipment (safety glasses, earplugs, gloves, etc.), the necessary tools, skilled staff to train you, and a safe environment.

 

WHAT TO BRING: 

Please bring a reusable water bottle so that you can fill up at our water station as needed. 

 

ADDRESS/LOCATION: 

This opportunity will be located at our main office at 1701 N 24th St, Omaha, NE 68110. There is a volunteer registration kiosk located at our front desk which you will need to sign into before beginning your shift.  

 

PARKING: 

You may park in any available parking spot in the parking lot. If there is no parking in the lot, there is a street with parking to the north.

 

COMMUNITY SERVICE: 

This opportunity is not available for Court-ordered community service.
