Serve a Meal Center of Hope- Lunch

THE FOLLOWING OPPORTUNITY IS FOR MEAL SERVICE ONLY. VOLUNTEERS MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE AND OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL IN ORDER TO VOLUNTEER.

THE SALVATION ARMY does not provide volunteer credit for court ordered, lawyer suggested or alcohol awareness classes. 

 

Please read the entire description before signing up. 

 

Each day families and single women working towards overcoming their homeless obstacles are provided nutritious meals by the remarkable team of cooks and kitchen staff. Volunteers are able to come alongside and assist by serving and plating meals for families.  

 

All volunteers who are looking to volunteer on a regular basis MORE THAN 2 TIMES will be asked to complete a volunteer application, background check, and training. Forms can be found on the right hand side of our volunteer page. 

 

Attire: Please make sure to wear comfortable clothes: Jeans, khakis, tennis shoes, polo shirts, or t-shirt. No open-toe shoes, sandals or slides.

 

If a volunteer arrives without proper attire or with underage children our kitchen staff has the authority to turn away the volunteer. 

 

If you require community service hour documentation for school or college, PLEASE CHECK in through your smart phone onsite before volunteering, so we know you were present and volunteering. You can also sign-in on the volunteer log sheet provided. Confirmation documentation will not be provided unless the volunteer checks in for the opportunity. 

 

Lunch and dinner are served daily in the dinning room.  

If you are planning on serving, please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in and receive instructions.

Charlotte, NC

 

All volunteers must enter through the front entrance.

• All volunteers will be asked to check in at the front desk.
• All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.
• Volunteers will be required to wear hairnets, aprons and required food-handling gloves.
