Opportunity Name:
HELP PROTECT OWLS AT DORBROOK!

Description:

(Ages 14 & up, ages 14-17 with adult)

Help protect owls hunting over the fields at Dorbrook Recreation Area during dusk,   Photographers are moving too close to the short-eared owls and interfering with their hunting ability.  Owl Monitors are needed to help keep visitors from encroaching on the owl territory.  More importantly, breeding short-eared owls are an endangered species.and your monitoring keeps us informed of the owls continued presence at Dorbrook.  Please send me a brief email with your observations.

The fields are on the south side of Dorbrook across from Lairds on Route 537.  Park in the lot.  There are six barriers on trails leading to the field where the owls are hunting plus the one where you are stationed.  Most of the time the owls are hunting in the field.on the left side of the path near the big tree.

I hope you can volunteer.  Your support would be very much appreciated.

Thank you.
