Construction Volunteers - Spring 2024

Thank you for joining us to build a safe, affordable home for a local family in Acadiana. Our mission is to put God's love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. 

 

On a Habitat for Humanity construction site, the potential tasks and jobs that you will help with may include the following:

 

framing, roof decking/felting, siding/exterior & interior trim work, exterior & interior painting/paint prep, landscaping, window & door installation, cabinet & home appliance installation, flooring (primarily vinyl plank & tile), drywall patching, and cleaning

 

Please be sure to wear closed-toe shoes and comfortable clothing keeping in mind the heat conditions. Those with hair that could obstruct vision, or get snagged, please use hair clips or hair ties to prevent those occurrences. Please hydrate the night before and morning before serving to prevent any heat-related issues. We will have fans, tents, and water to help keep you cool. 

**Please note that if we have weather issues or delays in construction, we still have opportunities to build components in our warehouse. We'll text you the morning of your shift if anything needs to change.**
