2024 Summer Games State Basketball - Stillwater

Special Olympics Minnesota's Summer Games is being held June 21-23 and we are looking for volunteers to help make the day happen! 

 

No Basketball experience? No problem! A detailed training is given at the beginning of each shift-you don't need to have any experience, just a great attitude and willingness to be a part of a day that athletes look forward to all year!

 

You're welcome to sign up for any of the following roles:

• Awards Assistants - As a team with SOMN staff, this position receives timing sheets, enters times on score sheets and ribbons, and assists with ceremony awarding athletes.
• Score Table-Assist with running scoreboards or writing down stats on a score sheet (2 people per table). 
• Skills Assistant-Work with SOMN staff to run skills events (dribbling, shooting, passing, etc.). 

Volunteer Expectations

• Volunteers must be 15 years or older to volunteer on their own.
• 12-14 year old volunteers are welcome when volunteering with chaperone/parent/guardian 18+.
• Interested volunteers who are under 12 are welcomed to cheer on athletes as fans in the stands with chaperone/parent/guardian 18+.     
• You may sign up for one or more shifts over the weekend.
• You'll receive a reminder email 1-2 weeks before the event with more details on parking, what to pack, etc. 
• All volunteers are expected to follow Special Olympics Minnesota’s Volunteer Code of Conduct.
