Represent Damien Center @ Indy Pride!

Come out and celebrate proudly with Damien Center staff and clientele at Indy Pride 2024! You can volunteer to help out in a variety of ways before, during and after the festival. • We're looking for some folks who might not mind some heavy lifting in the evening on Thursday, June 6th to help pack all of our booth supplies and materials into our Damien Center Mobile Unit. If you want to help out but would prefer a behind-the-scenes role, then this is a great match from you! You will work with a few DC staff who will be assisting with sorting and packing the van at our administrative office building. 

 

• We'll also need help with booth set-up in anticipation of the festival on Friday, June 7th! We will meet at Military Park, unload the Damien Center Mobile Unit, and set up both the Damien Center main booth and the Damien Center Prevention booth. While we don't have a specific time frame narrowed down yet for this project, we plan to find a time that works for those who sign-up to help well in advance of the actual day! Again, this is a great fit for those volunteers who like to help with the administrative side of things, as opposed to being a community-facing representative. 

 

• Finally, we will need a few Damien Center friends and volunteers to help represent us to the community during the festival on Saturday, June 8th! This is a great opportunity for recurring or frequent volunteers, or volunteers who might also be clients of the Damien Center (though you need not disclose this information). We will operate in two-hour shifts throughout the day, from approximately 9:30am til 5:30pm. Those folks who sign up for the first or last booth shift will also help with set-up and tear-down during the event. This position is great for those who like to be in the thick of it during the event - celebrate with your own friends and family while educating them and those in attendance about who the Damien Center is and how we might be able to connect them to care! While you're in the heart of the Pride Festival, you can ensure that you don't miss out on any of the fun and excitement that the event has to offer while you work your shift.
