Opportunity Name:
Court Ordered Community Service Orientation REQUIRED

Description:

*VIRTUAL ORIENTATION W/ VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR IS REQUIRED FOR ALL INDIVIDUALS WISHING TO COMPLETE COURT-ORDERED COMMUNITY SERVICE. Confirmation of hours will not be given if this orientation has not been completed.*

Lighthouse accepts participants in court-mandated community service programs as volunteers as a demonstration of good citizenship which affords a significant benefit to these individuals while providing
services to the community. Lighthouse is also committed to providing a safe and positive volunteer environment for all volunteers. For these reasons, Lighthouse has developed the following policy applicable to all Court Mandated Community Service volunteers:

1. Program Work will not be available to persons convicted of an act of violence, sexual misconduct, larceny, identity theft, or a felony conviction concerning illegal drugs.

2. Before court-mandated volunteers attend any volunteer opportunities, they must attend a virtual orientation conducted through email. You can conduct an orientation session and learn more by emailing clevitt@lighthousemi.org.

3. A picture government I.D. & court papers of your offense must be presented at the time of orientation. Please provide a copy of the front and back of your id (a picture is fine) and a copy of your court papers.

Lighthouse may conduct a routine background check on
all Program Volunteers.

4. You will also be asked to complete two forms before volunteering with us. These may either be completed online during orientation or in-person on your first day of service.

4. Upon completion of orientation, court-mandated volunteers may sign up for volunteer opportunities by registering online at https://lighthousemi.org/volunteer-opportunities/

5. After every volunteer shift is completed, volunteers must obtain a signature from the person leading the volunteer opportunity.

6. If a letter verifying hours is needed, please contact clevitt@lighthousemi.org and submit this request. Please send a copy of your timesheet with this request.
