Opportunity Details | Animal Welfare - Volunteer Orientation 2024
Opportunity Name:
Animal Welfare - Volunteer Orientation 2024 |
|
Description:
Prior to registering for Volunteer Orientation participants must complete a waiver of liability along with AWE.
Take the first step to becoming a volunteer with Gwinnett County Animal Welfare & Enforcement (GCAWE)! The Volunteer Orientation will cover all aspects of volunteering in the shelter including volunteer positions, policies, next steps, and more. After the Orientation, you'll be asked to sign-up for a hands-on training, then you'll be ready to volunteer! The orientation will be hosted in-person at our shelter and will not include animal handling.
A few ways volunteers can help at the shelter include walking dogs, giving cats individual attention, washing laundry, cleaning kennels, and helping at special and outreach events.
The minimum age to volunteer is 12 years old. If you are interested in volunteering and between the ages of 12 - 17 years old, a parent or guardian must also register for the orientation and volunteer with you at all times.
