Copy - Soup Kitchen - Detroit Rescue Mission

Volunteers will assist the kitchen staff with prep work, serving the meal, light cleaning and dishes, stocking, organizing, and clean-up.

• Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time.
• Sign in at front desk upon arrival
• Wear conservative and comfortable clothing and close toed shoes.  No shorts or skirts.
• Children must be at least 12 years of age and accompanied by an adult in order to volunteer.  Anyone younger will not be allowed to volunteer.  Children must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer without parental supervision.
• COURT ORDERED COMMUNITY SERVICE: If you have court ordered service, you may create a profile but before you can start, you MUST speak to the coordinator to get it approved and get a log sheet to track your time.  Hours will not be counted if you do them on your own and they are not approved before you begin. 
• Groups must contact the volunteer coordinator in order to set up volunteer opportunities.  Only Individuals registered through the system can register themselves. The computer will not save more than one registry.
• For the safety, privacy, and confidentiality of our clients, DRMM has a very strict policy and we do not allow pictures, videos, or media at our facilities. Any and all media and/or photos or videos must be discussed and pre-arranged by our PR Director. NO EXCEPTIONS.
