Description:

Join our behavior specialist, Beth Chamberlain for a Buddy Walk. This will be a hands-on experience with dogs.

 

Help us enrich the lives a shelter dogs by giving them time out of their kennel. We may take a few trips around the facility, enjoy play yard time, or spend some time off leash indoors depending on the weather and what the pups enjoy.

 

Giving dogs time to experience the company of other dogs and human companions improves their mental wellbeing and reduces the stress they experience while the shelter environment. Watch as they explore using their sense of smell, get physical exercise, and practice building good skills that well help them in their adopted home.

 

To participate in this event, volunteers should be comfortable walking dogs that may not have the best leash manners. Expect that dogs will jump up or pull when walking. Dogs can weigh between 40-65 lbs.
