Washington Park Pruning Workday, Thursday, March 28

Event Description:

Join the Hyde Park TreeKeepers in their on-going work tending Washington Park.  A second effort is needed in the southeast area of the park, north of the Fountain of Time and close to the lagoon.  Parts of this area are managed as Natural Area; the Park District’s forester will be present to assist with pruning tips and how to treat the different areas.

Meet at the Fountain of Time, where the Midway Plaisance (5900 South) meets Cottage Grove (800 East).  Bring your own tools if you have them and your oak identification skills.
This event is being led by TK Nancy Joseph, and the Hyde Park TreeKeepers Chapter, and Jerome Scott, District Forester for the Chicago Park District.

Email TreeKeepers Program Manager Al De Reu at Adereu@openlands.org with questions.
