2024 Summer Games - Bocce Tournament

 

The 2024 State Summer Games Lockheed Martin Bocce Tournament will take place on Friday, May 31st and Saturday, June 1st at Eastern Kentucky University.

 

Volunteers are needed to assist with facilitating the tournament. Review the volunteer roles below and consider coming out to take part in the most highly anticipated Special Olympics Kentucky competitive event of the year

 

Age Eligibility for Volunteers:

 

Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. Those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult for the entirety of their service. Some volunteer roles have a specific age requirement. Review each description below for more details. 

 

Those under the age of 12 years old will not be given a volunteer assignment but, are welcomed and encouraged to attend the event to serve as fans in the stands to cheer on athletes as long as they are accompanied by any adult.

 

Volunteer Roles: 

 

Awards Personnel - Assist with the staging of athletes, as well as, preparation and presentation of awards.

 

Court Support Personnel - Provide assistance to the officials in the measuring of distances, recording game stats, and match flow.

 

Officials - Assist with the officiating of matches. Sport specific experience is required and individuals must be at least 18 years of age. 

 

Volunteers are asked to remain in their role for the entire shift.
