Event Support Opportunity (6 opportunities)
The Lacey Maker Space, in collaboration with The Evergreen State College and Thurston County Solid Waste, is seeking volunteers to provide general support for a Fix-It Fair on May 8. Fix-it Fairs are community gatherings bringing neighbors together to provide free repair services to the public while reducing landfill waste and passing on vital skills. These hands-on events are open to everyone and provide an empowering opportunity for individuals to learn how to repair items – like small appliances and electronics – for themselves and others.

We’re looking for volunteers to help with various support activities, including:

Attendee check-in and weighing items to be repaired
Guiding attendees to the appropriate fixer when a station becomes available
Guidance and consulting on other items outside the scope of the current event’s capacity

Time commitment:

1 hour event training in late April or early May (required)
Up to 6 hours on Wednesday, May 8 (1:00 to 7:00 pm)

1:30pm-4:30pm (3 opportunities)
4:00pm-7pm (3 opportunities)
Times are flexible between 1:00pm and 7pm
