Sir John Falstaff, that most obscene and lusty of knights, has set his eye on both Alice Ford and Meg Page—two married women of unimpeachable reputation. Fortunately, the ladies are experts at handling men, whether they be Falstaff, their husbands, or the three suitors asking for the hand of young Anne Page. Nicolai’s playful score is among the best settings of Shakespeare to music. Internationally acclaimed soprano Rena Harms (English National Opera) makes her Pocket Opera debut as Alice Ford, and superstar Bass Ken Kellogg makes his Pocket Opera debut as Sir John Falstaff!
This performance is 2 hours and 40 minutes long with one 20 minute intermission and is appropriate for ages 5 and above due to length. |
